Last week both Sony and Canon disappeared from the CES 2022 exhibitor directory and their large booths were listed on the CES show floor map as “available” and without their names.
However, a CES representative said via email Monday that Canon and Sony “are committed for the physical show” and sent along an updated show floor map that restored Sony and Canon to their positions on opposite corners of Central Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center.
CES has been beset with a rash of exhibitors, including Microsoft, T-Mobile, Intel and Lenovo, that have chosen to vastly shrink their in-person attendance at the show due to the rise of the Omicron Covid-19 variant.
CES 2022, formerly known as the Consumer Electronics Show, opens in multiple venues in Las Vegas on Jan. 3 and 4 for the media only and Jan. 5 to 8 for all registered attendees.
